In centrul Timisoarei, vizavi de intrarea Muzeului de Arta, se gaseste cel mai ieftin birt din vestul tarii. Fete de masa ciuruite de mucuri de tigara, pahare goale, duhnind a votca sau rom. De la ora 7 dimineata, cind se deschide, localul "Izvorul rece" este arhiplin. La prinz, aproape ca ti-e imposibil sa gasesti vreun loc liber. Muncitori, pensionari, intelectuali de tranzitie se inghesuie in micul birt pentru a-si savura, intr-o atmosfera boem-muncitoreasca, portia de tarie.
Nu intimplator am ales acest loc pentru a discuta cu autorul "Istoriei betiei la romani". Concluzia lui este simpla. La noi, betia este institutionalizata. Bem cind ne bucuram, bem de necaz, bem de disperare, bem tot timpul, de la botez si nunta pina la inmormintare. "Bem ca sa uitam. Ce sa uitam? Faptul ca bem"( rofl.gif ), spune hitru Mircea Balan. El crede ca romanii sint singurii din lume care se raporteaza pozitiv la bautura. Si singurii care considera betia un dar, nu un viciu. De pilda, despre un bautor inveterat, chiar despre un alcoolic, la noi se spune ca "are darul betiei". ( spoton.gif )

In pragul unui spital aglomerat cu medici si asistente care mai mult alergau decat mergeau, cu pacienti bolnavi, obositi, nervosi apare o matza care scoate un mieunat menit sa provoace mila apoi se aseaza in mijlocul traseului cel mai circulat fara sa-i pese ca putea fi calcata in orice moment.

Si o ciocolata pentru copii. E mai buna decat cea obisnuita.....
