Roman Herzog Research Scholarship for SEE Scholars

Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) and non profit Hertie Foundation(GHS) in Frankfurt a/M provide for young and highly qualified students with exceptional qualities of leader in research and lectures from Central Europe and SEE to implement projects of their choice in Germany (age limit is 35).
Applications can be submitted for long-term period of research, between 6 and 12 months. Research fellowships are offered on a regional competitive basis.

There are no quotas in respect of either country or academic discipline. Applications from the fields of law, economics and social sciences are particularly welcome since fellowships shall contribute to the further development of scientific policy in the home country. 12 research fellowships are available per annum.

Fulbright New Century Scholars - Toward Equality: The Global Empowerment of Women

The Fulbright New Century Scholars Program, an initiative of the Fulbright Scholar Program, brings together annually 25-30 outstanding research scholars and professionals from the U.S. and around the world. NCS fellows engage in multidisciplinary collaboration on a topic of global significance under the leadership of a Distinguished New Century Scholar Leader, an individual selected for expertise and standing in the area of the research topic as well as for the ability to approach the topic from an interdisciplinary perspective.
For the academic year 2004-2005, the research focus is "Toward Equality: The Global Empowerment of Women."
